The storyteller
Sarah LIoyd-Winder is a professional storyteller who seeks out tales from around the world to tell at a variety of venues and situations. From the folktales of the woods and moors of Great Britain, to the beautiful myths and legends of the world, these are stories of beauty, horror, comedy and about the way people act. She is a performance storyteller and explorer of stuff, a wearer of hats and traveller in time. Sarah is also a searcher of the ferocious fairies and wanton witches of ancient folklore alongside the forgotten women of history. She originally trained as a dancer and had a contemporary dance company. This led to devising children’s-based theatre shows. These toured festivals, arts centres, schools and other venues. She has worked on projects with refugees, people with special needs and children at risk. She also trained as a teacher and has an MA in Media, Culture and Communication, focusing on digital storytelling.
