The storyteller
Clare Goodall is a Storyteller and Musician. She tells stories, gives talks and plays music. Her tales tend to be from Ancient Greece, Classical Rome as well as the European Medieval, Renaissance and Tudor worlds – although she dabbles in the Anglo-Saxon era too. Clare has adapted the Iliad into a 55 minute show and, with fellow musician Lizzie Gutteridge, created ‘Firestarter: John Ball and the Great Revolt’. In this she tells the tale of the Peasants Revolt of 1381, looping in medieval music. She has performed at the British Museum, Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, Arundel Castle, Beaumaris Castle, the Edinburgh Fringe, the Brighton Fringe, numerous pubs and cafes as well as to people living with Alzheimers. She has also run entertainments at banquets (Puppet Agincourt went down a storm) and medieval dance workshops. To stop herself becoming stale, Clare has recently started live looping as well as balloon modelling (Penguin and T-rex being her current favourites).
