The storyteller
Jo Henwood officially became a storyteller in 1999 when she joined the New South Wales Storytelling Guild. She was Accredited as a storyteller a few years later and at various times has been the Guild’s President, Vice President and Accreditation Officer.
However, the truth is that she has always been giver and receiver of stories throughout her life – as a tour guide, museum education officer, librarian, museum theatre creative, child care worker, workshop leader and public speaker on literature, history, creative writing, intangible culture, and of course, storytelling.
She has a Masters in Cultural Heritage, a degree in Library Science, and post graduate qualifications in museum studies, tour guiding and gifted education. She has performed in conferences, schools and festivals in Australia, Europe and Asia.
