The storyteller
Catherine Brophy is a writer, storyteller, broadcaster and workshop facilitator. She leads a blameless life in Ireland and travels whenever she can. She has been rescued by a circus troupe in Serbia, had breakfast with a Zambian chief, ate camel stew in the Sahara and was kicked by a horse on the Mexican plain. So yeah…she has a couple of stories to tell. Catherine’s stories often make people laugh, sometimes to her own surprise and delight. She tells a wide variety of tales including fairy stories, myths, legends, folk tales, as well as travel and personal stories. The choice depends on the audience. These are two of her favourite quotes: “Stories are not just for children, why should they have all the fun?” and “Every story has a lesson, but only the listener knows what that is.”
